I believe the relationship between client and counselor should be based on trust, honesty, and openness. Imagine if you had someone to talk with that would listen closely with understanding and empathy while also encouraging greater self-growth and healing. Imagine having someone willing to sit with you in your pain and stress while also providing hope that things can get better. It’s important to find a counselor that is a good fit for you and is willing to respect the privilege to hear your story.
